Happy 11th Birthday Cloudy!

Hiya Pupsters!

We’re having a Barkday Bash (aka Birthday Party) online for Cloudy! He’s turning a whopping pawmazing 11 years old! In dog years,that’s purdy old, not to mention for a great dane, so we’re hoping to get him 111 Birthday cards from around the world! Can you help us make it happen fur hims??

We worked with a local great dane rescue to pull him out of a dingy shelter as an underweight malnourished hospice case. He was very underweight and sleeping on a small cold concrete shelter floor. Two years later he’s still with us as a permanent foster, thriving and loving life. He wuvs nylabones, treats, and soft beds and blankies! He’s starting to show signs of aging with some bone deterioration and arthritis, so we needs your help to keep him strong, healthy and pain free!

Let’s celebrate fur a week and show him how much we wuvs him! You can send a barkday card or visit his wish list!

Any bones received in barkday cards (appawciated but never ever required!) will go towards his ongoing vet care! His wishlist includes mostly things needed fur his health, but Cloudy wuvs stuffies, chew toys, antlers, blankies, nylabones, and organic/limited ingredient treats.

2015 Year In Review

2015 was a busy year and I wants to thank everypawdy who volunteered, donated, or sponsored the events we held and took part in!

Fostering:

We fostered 2 litters of kittens totaling 8 kitties.
We fostered 2 litters of puppies totaling 5 puppies.

Rescue Pulls:

We were able to pull 1 senior dog from a shelter and are permanently fostering him.
We were able to pull 1 pitbull dog from deathrow at a kill shelter, fundraise, and place into foster/rescue.

Fundraisers:

Valentine’s Fundraiser for Water’s Edge Mardi-Paws – raised $200+ bones
Fall Auction to raise bones for my 501c3 fees
Flood Drive to help shelters affected by the mass flooding – we sent boxes to 7 SC shelters
CAS Chili-Cookoff – we raised over $700 for Toby’s fund by selling tickets and booth donations
Howliday Auction – we raised $300 bones for my Howliday Toy Drive.
Howliday Toy Drive – toy drops in 15 locations; delivered toy boxes to 8 lowcountry shelters & rescues.

For 2015, we have been able to raise money via a Valentines drive as a sponsor for the Mardi Gras Pawrade benefitting WEDGR, pull 2 dogs from death row, support a permanent foster, and foster 2 litters of puppies and 2 litters of kittens. We also organized a drive to help the animal rescues affected by the South Carolina flooding in October, and are currently working to raise money for the annual Chili Cook-Off in November to support the Charleston Animal Society.

This is my first Wordless Wednesday, and in celebration of Senior Pet Month, I wanted to spotlight my foster brofur Cloudy! We rescued Cloudy from a bad shelter situation a few months ago in March, where he was malnourished after being dropped off by his hooman family (I use this word loosely) of over 8 years. We have been working to fatten him and get him healthy. He is mostly Great Dane with a little Greyhound, and turned 9 in June! That’s really old for a Dane, too!
