Mommers here:
Milk was shaking horribly this morning in the car on the way to the vet for his surgery of what is believed to be a mast cell tumor (MCT). I’m sure my nerves weren’t helping, but I was trying to pet him and talk positive and do our normal singing. Just wasn’t working. He knew something was up. (And as most of you have figured out, Milk is grumpy if woken early and doesn’t get his kibble!) A friend reminded me to hold his paw…and this goofy headed blockhead just lit up with his smile we all know, and I knew it would all be okay. We jammed with the windows open through the rest of traffic to get to the office. He was being playful at the vet, and jumped in my lap and about had my entire head in his mouth trying to give me MilkSmoochies! Of course, I’m a bit leaky eyed leaving him there.
I chose today’s date for his surgery, though, because it’s the first of the month. The first will bring good things. We have chosen to stay pawsitive through this journey and are trusting things work out for the best. I am so thankful to know he has a vet team that will take tremendous care of him – which is why he is having surgery in the first place. I fought everything in me to do the fundraiser – I didn’t want to impede on our journey to becoming a non-profit. But without all of your help, this surgery wasn’t going to happen, and thankfully we are almost there to having it fully covered.
So thank you. Thank you for understanding. Thank you for contributing. Thank you for the prayers and shares. Thank you for loving my LittleMan.
…It’s all in the touch of a paw…
