Rain Rain Go Away

It’s that time of year here in Charleston, SC. Living near Folly Beach brings lots of rain and cloudy weather with the hurricane season and tropical storms. But here’s the pawblem Pupsters! I just don’t gets it! All of this water coming from the sky, and all those dark nasty thingys floating up there. WHY?!? When all of this happens, it means NO PLAY TIME!!! And that, that is just no fair! Arabella just mopes and whines – here she is begging to come inside from the thunderstorm. Buddy is just a mess with dog anxiety from the loud thunder boomers. You can see he won’t even play with his dog toy he is so upset over the storm! Cloudy gets the creakies in his bones, And me? Well, I don’t like my fur siblings feeling icky, and I don’t want to go out in the rain. I mite gets my beautibull fur wet!!

Even the kittehs don’t want to go outside in the rain and thunderstorms! Indigo Bleu the white albino kitty is taking over Mommers’ lap, and Creature the tuxedo cat is making a perch on top of the kitten caboodle – and she wuvs to stay outside and hide under the car watching creepily at hoomans driving or walking by!

I’m dreaming of a day with sunshine and flowers! But it looks like rain all week! Sees you on the other side!

Wet Woof Wednesday!

Living next to the pluff mud here in the Holy City of Charleston, SC near Folly Beach it has been supa dupa hot! We had record highs for the month of July that we hasn’t seen since the 19th century! Century? Wait! What does that mean?? I don’t thinks I was around back then bol!! Anydog, whatever it means, it means it was HOTDOG city! And what does that mean fur us pups? POOL TIME! Wooferoo!

I like to swim in my own special way, BUT drinking the swimming pool water is the bestest EVER! I has all the water I want, whenever I want it! And it never, ever disappears! Can you see the water droplets dripping from my chin? I was so happy and proud to show Mommers by BIG discovery! Since it’s so hot, I stay on the tops steps when I’m outside. Gotta keep my white coat hydrated and beautibull ya know?!?

Arabella, AKA BatEars is all smiles fur the camera! She just finished swimming laps and diving off the side fur her nylabone rubber stick and tennis ball. She is practicing to be a dock diving dog so she can compete with our local Palmetto Dock Diving Dogs chapter! How pawsome is that?!?

Everypawdy just wuvs some Buddy Boy. But this poor fella is soo afraid of the water. He uses the swimming pool for a big water bowl like me, but he won’t even get in on the first step. Silly boy! He’s missing out! I wonder’s if he mite be allergic to the water bol…

Cloudy is just a big goof merle Great Dane with a smile as big as he is. He won’t get in the swimming pool either, but he wuvs to run and chase around the outside of it. He’s just gotta get dizzy! When Arabella and I are fetching balls and sticks from the water, he is always rite there in your face (yes, a lil too close sometimes bol) barking cause he wants to play and get in on the action, too!

Return of the Milkster!

Oh Pupsters! It’s been waay too long since I blogged! It’s a lil off topic for the Blog Paws wordless Wednesday blog hop, but I wanted to share what has been going on. You see, my Mommers was in a car accident, and then she had to have some lumpy bumpies taken out of her tummy. She was in the hospital with dogtors for a couple of months, and has now been home for a couple weeks and is slowly recovering and learning to walk again…and that’s where I come in! Wooferoo!

I thought it would be fun to wear Mommers neck brace and blood pressure cuff from her ambulance ride. We were matching like twins cause they put her in a real neck brace at the hospital.

Sooos….I gots to visit Mommers in the hospital cause I’m a service dog and this was the pawfect oppawtunitiy to do some training in a weird place with strange noises and smells, with lots of new hoomans.

My pawsome Aunties Rhonda and Beka were my chauffeurs so I could get to the hospital…I tried to drive but they just wouldn’t lets me!

I was soo happy to be reunited with Mommers. Here I am rite where I always should be.

When I had some off-duty time, I just had to make sure Mommers’ bed smelled like me so she wouldn’t forgets me!

This, this is where Auntie Rhonda said the most pawfect thing…

And all is right with the world.

In this moment, all the tears, all the pain, all the loneliness for both of us were gone. Gone for a precious moment where I let Mommers know she means the world to me and we connected to each others hearts.

Enuff tears! Here I am being GloWormMilk cause I gots to stay real late one nite and be Mommers sleep angel.

I am what I have been trained to do. Not by force, but by pawsitive training and fun games. I just wuv being a service dog for Mommers and learning new things everydays! Wooferoo!

Of course, I gots to train walking beside a wheelchair while somepawdy was pushing Mommers, and of course, I handled it like a champ!

We’ve got a long road of recovery ahead, but as a team we can do it! I would wuv your pawsitive vibes, pawyers, etc as we continue on this journey of healing, and as I train to do even more things and ultimately become a mobility dog! Wooferoo!

Summertime in Winter

Hiya Pupsters! We’ve had some super warm days in Charleston SC during February – almost feels like summer time! That’s fine by me though cause that means we gets to play outside and romp in the sun and leaves. Oh, and we can’t forgets about the swimming pool!

Arabella got frisky and tried to chase Tiger up the tree. Arabella thought she was hiding under the hammock bol. Doesn’t she know you can see through a Pawleys Island hammock!! Silly puppy! Mommers still knows you were chasing the cat 🙂

Me & Arabella chased tennis balls and went swimming the pool. Cloudy fetched some balls too, but watched us from the sidelines of the pool. I guess he’s too old to swim bol. But he’s our senior doggie so whatever he wants to do is fine by me.

Arabella decided to get vocal. Not sure if she was howling to us or the stick. She says she was barking at us, but I’m purdy sure she was having a conversation with the stick 🙂

And me? I just decided to find a big ol’ stick and start gnawing down! Gots to floss my toofies somehow!

As you know, I am always wagging around town with Mommers, making appearances at local events, or just barking up a good time, so when Go Pet from Healthy Human Life approached me about a product review for one of their stackable Go Pet Bento Bowls, I was all paws fur the challenge. And, because we wanted to make sure you could test it our yourself, we have one to giveaway too! Pawfect timing fur the New Year! Make sure you scroll all the way down so you can enter! Here’s the basics:

The Packaging: The Go Pet Bento Bowl comes packaged in an eco-friendly, recyclable box. The thin cardboard box is just perfectly large enuff to hold the Bento bowl. No waste or harm to the planet with large plastic packaging.

The Product: The Go Pet Bento Bowl is a stackable bowl system designed to carry the essentials for your furry furiend! It comes in sizes of 2, 3, and 4 levels, and can be mixed and matched with additional bowls for increased size or color variation. The top air-tight water compartment with air-relase button holds up to 20oz of water cold for 4 hours, and up to 16oz of kibble in the other compartments.

The Materials: The Bento bowl is made with hooman grade 18/10 steel. This means I can’t consume any icky materials or chemicals that may be harmful to me. I may be a furbaby and a bit biased, but I think fur lives matter just as much – ok you got me – fur lives matter more than hoomans so we deserve the bestest too! The outside and handle are durable plastic, and the color options are currently bright green, royal blue, or fuchsia pink!

The Company: Healthy Human Life was founded here in my hometown county by Natalie Shultz. Their focus is on healthy items for hoomans like glass and other materials that would aid healthy living – no plastics that can break down in your water or kibble!

Here’s my paw ratings (1-4):

The Size Factor: 4 Paws – I give the size 4 paws because I can adjust the levels depending on the trip I’m taking. If it’s just a short trip, I might just need the water bowl. Wait – am I pawing or is my secretary – cause I ALWAYS need treats!! That means that I, Milk, need at least two bowls 🙂 Trips to my vet have at least three levels, cause I carry my medicines so they can keep tabs on my health. My pawference is all four levels though, cause when I drink water or eat kibble, it’s right there at the pawfect height for me – I don’t have to lean over to the ground (hmmm…a MilkBlog idea…digestion issues and raised bowls :))

Fashion Factor: 4 Paws (1 paw boring, 4 paws dapper) – What better way to have my essentials carried around with me! Instead of having them stuffed in Mommers bag, a grocery bag, or just tossed in the car, my goodies are toted in a bright colored and sleek container. And I just wuv that I can interchange the colors based on my mood or outfit!

Durability Factor: 4 Paws (1 paw floppy, 4 paws tuff) – I give the durability of the Bento Bowl 4 paws for durability, BUT within normal use like most pawducts. If you leave it unattended, some eager chewers (not mentioning any names….like my brofur Buddy!) would be able to chew the attachment rings. And if you play fetch with it – okay don’t do this! – the handles might pop off. So, if your hooman uses it properly then it should be just fine to handle lots and lots of car rides and park trips!

Here’s my final bark:

The Pro’s – Check out my paw ratings – I think you’ll agree with my seal of MilkApproved! And the special release button on the water lid makes this product truly water tight to make sure there’s no spilled water. Another pro: if you like this healthy item for your pets, Healthy Human offers hooman products too 🙂

The Con’s – Depending on your needs and breed size, you might be wishing the bowls are a bit bigger. For my current needs, and most pet needs, the size is just pawfect. But for alot of overnight trips, I would need to carry a few levels, or have a bigger bowl size. You see, my meal size is a big one and it wouldn’t last me too long bol. But, never fear, cause I’m purdy sure Healthy Human is listening 🙂

The B Word

It started like any other day. I laid on the floor while Mommers was getting ready. For her B-word. But she had a another idea. And Zaida seemed to know…

BUT THEN!!!! She said the B-Word was for me. We all know about the B word. It’s a dirty four letter word that puppies and kitties should never, EVER, ever hear!

You gots it! She made me take – cover your ears with your paws little doggies – a BATH! Like I was a dirty pup or something. Look at the water – it’s crystal, umm, I can see through it so it’s clean!

AND then…she thought she would make it all better to make me look like a monkey! Why Mommers why? The B-word was bad enuff, and now you’re making me match my Zaida monkey! One monkey is enuff in this house and it’s not me!

Bark N Boo

Oh Pupsters I’m so excited! I’m pawing up for an exciting event on Saturday to help raise kibble for the Charleston Animal Society! Kia Country of Charleston is hosting Bark N Boo and I will have a table set-up for you come bark hello, get smoochies, and learn more about what I’m planning to help #SaveThePuppies! Admission fee is pet food for dogs, cats, or bunnies, and will go to help the efforts of CAS and their food bank. Of course, it’s Howl-O-Ween, so come dressed in your best to pawticipate in the Halloween costume contest, and come see me for some yummy treats!

Driving Miss Daisy

I was inspired for the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday from their post Driving Lessons. Well, I just wuv to drive, and so does Cloudy! Maybe we aren’t exactly Driving Miss Daisy, but we often drive Mommers or Arabella! BOL! Of course, we get demoted to wingman sometimes, but that’s ok and just as much fun, too!

Many times I’m stuck in the back because I get wet playing in the lake at the doggie park!

And sometimes I even practice my training skills in the car! Here I am practicing ‘get small’!

Adopt a Shelter Pup Month!

Pupsters! October is such a pawsome month! It’s Adopt a Shelter Pup Month, and Pitbull Awareness Month! Today I want to share a couple pitties in need here in my home state of SC. As many of you have seen on the news, we have been hit hard with rain and flooding, which has devastated many of our state shelters. So, here are a few pups that could use some extra love and sharing.

MONTANA

Montana is a smaller, one year old sweetheart pitbull who would wuv to come live in your home! He is heartworm negative and gets along great with other pups, but finds kitties a bit too exciting. He was taken to Darlington County Animal Shelter after his “owner” abandoned him and 5 other pups! He is eager for training and furever home. FREE transport is available!

First Day of Fall 2015

Happy First Day of Fall Pupsters! It’s still warm this time of year in the LowCountry of Charleston, SC, but today is cool and cloudy just to welcome a new season! I can’t wait for the leaves to start falling so I can jump in the fresh piles and make a ‘splash’! Today, Mommers and I are relaxing outside enjoying our Pawley’s Island Hammock! Wooferoo!
